The Levar Farm offers a wide assortment of breads (buckwheat, walnut, fruit, ham, corn, and whole wheat) baked in their bread oven. They have pork, beef and horse meat, all kinds of vegetables, dairy products and seasonal dishes. Their specialities include stews with buckwheat mush žganci, homemade cottage cheese and butter filled štruklji (typical Slovenian dish; rolled dumplings), stuffed veal breast and sponge cake. By prior arrangement, the housewife also bakes birthday cakes.
Their facility sits up to 50 guests, and they are happy to welcome pets as well. Upon request, Mr. Frenk, the owner, offers guided tours along Lake Cerknica on the traditional horse-drawn hay carriage (lojtrnik) and takes guests trail riding.
On the farm, there is also an exhibition titled From Grain to Bread (from yoke to bread baking) and a collection of herb liquers made by Mrs. Jolanda according to her grandmother’s recipes.
