Notranjska House - a restored old farmhouse, built in 1884, was once a coachman's inn and shop, located in the center of the village Selšček. Today it's a cultural monument of local importance, offering accommodation in a double room with bathroom. Breakfasts available, lunch or dinner by prior arrangement.
The kitchen has an old wood-burning stove, the whole ambience is equipped with old furniture, old cupboards and the space in general is nicely complemented by preserved old objects.
In winter, there are many workshops in the house (felt products workshop, cooking workshops, exhibitions, lectures and small concerts).
Selšček is reknown as "Gaspari's village", because famous Slovenian painter Maksim Gaspari was born there. In the center of the village there is a sculpture of the painter, the work of academic sculptor Milena Braniselj, instead of classic house numbers there are boards with motifs of Gaspari's postcards and written house names.
Just above Selšček is the Špička hill - a popular well-marked hiking spot, which offers a nice view of all the surrounding places (walking time 45 min), but you can also go on the marked walking path "Following the bear's footsteps" (length approx. 10 km).
Attractions and popular points in the vicinity: Cerknica Lake, Rakov Škocjan, Bloke plateau - the cradle of skiing, Lake Bloke, Vidovski hills, Snežnik Castle, Križna jama cave.
