LIFE TRSCA: A wealth of activities for children and youth

With the desire for every child to visit the area of Lake Cerknica at least once and with the belief that only a genuine connection between students and nature leads to responsible behavior toward nature and people in adulthood, Notranjska Park organizes various activities for children and young people. The European Union and its LIFE financial mechanism continuously enable us to provide numerous free educational activities. The current educational work in Notranjska Park is carried out within the framework of a new European project.

CREATIVE COMPETITIONS
By the end of 2029, Notranjska Park will organize four creative competitions. The ongoing competition, "If I were a bird," invites submissions of artwork, literary pieces, and photographs. The deadline for submission is May 23, 2025, and the winners will be announced on June 16, 2025. More details about the creative competition can be found at this link under section T 8.11.

NATURE EXPLORATION DAYS
Over six years, we will organize 60 free nature exploration days (10 days per year) for students from local primary schools and children from local kindergartens. These guided educational activities will also include the use of various didactic tools (binoculars, insect nets, magnifying glasses, etc.).

NATURE CAMPS
In the coming years, Notranjska Park will also organize free thematic nature camps. During the project’s duration, we will provide two 5-day camps and one 7-day student research camp at no cost.

For 23 years, Notranjska Regional Park, a protected natural area, has been shaping the unique story of Notranjska while continuously ensuring that nature is presented to our youngest visitors in an engaging and educational way.
