Hike: Javorniki hills – wilderness at our doorstep

 The mysterious Javorniki hills are just calling out for discovery of this primeval forested ridge, which provides shelter and food for the survival of many animals. On the hike to the top of Javornik hills, we will encounter traces of forest life, listen to the silence of the forest and smell its mysterious thousand-year-old spirit, and observe the playfulness of colours and shadows on the growth. 

Along the way, at the top of Veliki Javornik, you will also enjoy a special snack from the Notranjska okuševalnica - snacks made from homemade bread and produce from the garden, decorated with flowers from the meadows of Notranjska.

Duration: from 9:00 to 14:00 (5 h) 
Meeting point: Rakov Škocjan, parking lot next to Rakov Škocjan hotel (N 45.78862, E 14.29770)

Necessary equipment: hiking shoes, hiking poles, suitable clothes according to weather, drinks mosquito and ticks repellent
