Get to know the dormouse, a mysterious animal that also fascinated Johann Weikhard von Valvasor.
Curious as dormouse, we will go along the forest paths by the Lake Cerknica and learn interesting facts about the dormouse and the mysterious nocturnal adventures of this furry creature. We will get acquainted with the long and rich tradition of dormouse hunting in the karst forests and its importance for the local population. At the end of the experience the tourist farm T’Dolenj will serve us food that is not only good for us, but also for the dormouse. Wondering what it is? Come and try it. You also take some dormouse treats home.
Duration: from 10:00 to 12:30 (2,5 h)
Meeting point: observatory Malnšče (between Gorenje Jezero and Laze pri Gorenjem Jezeru; N 45.72848, E 14.40509)

Necessary equipment: suitable clothes according to weather, hiking shoes, mosquito and ticks repellent, sunscreen, drinks

In case of free places, it will be possible to participate in the activity even without prior registration, in case of filling up, priority will be given to those who have registered.
Participation is at your own risk.
You can also visit the Visitor center Lake Cerknica and Križna Cave (every day at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00) without prior notice. Both sights and the Museum of Lake Cerknica can also be visited at other times with prior reservation.
