Discover: Ancient forces of nature in the Rakov Škocjan valley

In (pre)history, Japods and other prehistoric peoples (tribes) lived in the Rakov Škocjan valley. They were well aware of above-average benevolent but invisible natural forces. You will visit five such points in the central area of the Rakov Škocjan valley on a guided hike with local guide Matija Fajdiga. The respective attractions still allow the general public to learn about the spiritual development of our prehistoric ancestors and at the same time to renew and/or train their perceptive sensitivity to the invisible forces of nature.

On a circular hike through the valley, which will take place partly along the road and partly along the educational trail, you will see an oak tree by the road with the highest flood water levels marked, an ancient double oak tree above the river Rak, its uniqueness and natural religious significance, the inexhaustible Prunkovec spring and learn many interesting facts about the rocky oval, a natural religious landscape sanctuary that stood near the Rakov Škocjan Hotel.

After the circular hike, a special snack from the Notranjska okuševalnica will be waiting for you - delicious savoury and sweet snacks made from freshly baked wholemeal pastries, home-made meats, local produce, decorated with flowers from the meadows of Notranjska region.
