Elevation profile of the route

For experienced cyclist, the ideal trail is from Lake Cerknica to the 1114-metre-high lookout on Mt Slivnica. On your way, you will be able to see the lake from near and far.

You start your way in Dolenje Jezero and head towards the village of Otok. Continue through the villages along the eastern edge of Lake Cerknica where you can stop, rest and enjoy a meal at some of the tourist farms and restaurants. Cycle on through the village of Grahovo and take a right turn at the church. Soon afterwards, there’s some 10-km climb on Slivnica, mountain of witches. We recommend making a stop at the top to take in the view while resting and eating in the Slivnica Mountain Lodge.

You descend along the same road, but after some two km turn left towards Cerknica. From here, return to the starting point in Dolenje Jezero.
