Trail along extreme borders of Lake Cerknica – when at its fullest, of course. It runs from the village of Dolenje Jezero to Dolenja vas, proceeds along the Javorniki foothills to the village of Gorenje Jezero, through Grahovo along the foothills of Mt Slivnica to Cerknica and, from there, back to the starting point.

Starting point is at the parking lot at the end of the village of Dolenje Jezero. From here, you head back through the village and when you get to its very end, turn left onto the macadam road towards the village of Dolenja vas. There, cross the little bridge and turn left. Outside Dolenja vas, continue once again on a macadam road and take a left turn at the first crossing, which is followed by a gentle climb past the lookout and above the Jamski zaliv cove with the ponor caves of Mala and Velika Karlovica. At the end of the climb, take another left turn (towards the villages of Otok and Laze pri Gorenjem Jezeru) and cycle past the ruins of Karlovec Castle above Lake Cerknica. The ride along the Javorniki foothills provides some magnificent views of the lake and Mount Slivnica. After a completed 15-km ride (from the starting point), you arrive to Laze pri Gorenjem Jezeru with an asphalt road. From here, continue through the villages of Gorenje Jezero, Goričice, Lipsenj and Žerovnica to Grahovo. When you get to the main road, turn left. The road leads to Cerknica, but due to traffic it’s not very bicycle-friendly. It is better to opt for the parallel road – after some 100 m turn right at the church in Grahovo and take a left turn after another 300 m. Continue along the macadam road, turn left at the crossing and immediately turn left again. This road leads along Mount Slivnica's foothills above the village of Martinjak and gets you to Cerknica after a 4-km ride. Here, you descend slowly to the main road, and right before the bridge, turn left towards Dolenje Jezero and return to the starting point.
