The Church of St. cross stands on the 857 m high peak in the east of the Lake Cerknica and is seen from far away. You can go to Mount Križna gora from several directions. From the direction of Loška dolina, you can access the top past the Stations of the cross, but in addition to hiking up the mountain, you can also decide to visit Križna jama cave and hike right from the parking lot in front of it.
