Elevation profile of the route
The Drvošec trail starts at the Rešeto swallets and finishes approximately 500 metres before the bridge in front of the village of Otok. It mainly goes through the forest and is 3.7 km long (one way), making it ideal for anyone (remember to wear appropriate hiking gear).
The trail is home to several educational points, enhancing the experience of exploring the pristine nature of Lake Cerknica. The observation platforms "Kuharca" and "Klejni vrh" along with the observation tower "Otočec" (10 metres high) offer the most valuable vistas of this karst phenomenon. The exceptional dimensions of the site can be easily viewed from these locations.
The trail is marked with a bird (bittern) icon, which you can follow on the markings on the pillars throughout the trail.

Accessible tourism on the trail Drvošec
Accessible Parking:
At the end of the village Dolenje Jezero, there is a parking lot with three spaces reserved for people with disabilities.
Accessibility:
People using wheelchairs can explore the first part of the trail Drvošec, which follows a flat macadam road (if their wheelchairs are adapted for such a surface). From there, they can view part of Lake Cerknica (or sinkholes if the lake is dry) and read information about Slovenia's largest lake and its surroundings at various points along the way.
Two didactic points at the "Kuharca" observation platform (the first platform on the the Drvošec) are adapted for blind and partially sighted visitors. The descriptions are printed in Braille, and visitors can engage in interactive tasks such as identifying tree bark by touch and listening to the sounds of the lake.
Adapted Sanitary Facilities:
The sanitary facilities at the Visitor center Lake Cerknica are fully accessible for people with mobility impairments. They are located on the ground floor of the building.
The path has signs with an image of a bird (bittern), which you can follow on the markers placed on the posts all along the route.
